Creating a Cloud-Based Ecosystem

Considering the employee experience while migrating to the cloud.

Nucleus is an automation platform and suite of products that focused on end-user device experiences. The goal was to gain an understanding on how employees were leveraging the tools we were providing them to help increase productivity and create a frictionless experience. We took a journey based view to focus on the end user's experience to empower employees with the tools they need.

The first step was to gain a functional understanding of the various aspects of Nucleus, how they are all related, and what specific job each component does. We then prioritized our work based on the biggest user impact to be able to conduct more in-depth user research to understand the end-user needs and design around those.

We chose to focus our efforts on the command centre dashboard as it is the main hub of information and insights. We worked with users to determine which components needed to be on the dashboard and how the primary navigation should be structured for ease of access to key information.

Once the wire frames were tested and refined with users, we applied the branding to them and added in additional functionality in the form of a clickable prototype. This was then used as a reference point for the development team.
